The Olympic Athlete
誰是奧運大贏家？

Part A
James and Joanna are watching the Olympics on TV.
詹姆士和喬安娜正在看奧運的電視轉播。

James: The American guy is definitely going to win the race. Wait and see.
Joanna: I doubt it. He looks like he’ll be as slow as a snail. I think the Taiwanese guy
will win.
James: No way! The American is very slender. I bet his highest speed is pretty fast.
Joanna: You already guessed the wrong winner for the weightlifting event.
James: That doesn’t count. He hurt his ankle during the contest.
Joanna: Shhh! The race is about to start. (after the race) Ha! I told you so! So far I’ve
been right every time.

詹姆士：那個美國選手一定會贏得這場賽跑，等著看吧。
喬安娜：我不相信，他看起來跟蝸牛一樣慢，我覺得那個臺灣人會贏。
詹姆士：不可能！美國仔很瘦，我賭他的爆發速度一定快得不得了。
喬安娜：你已經猜錯舉重項目的優勝者了。
詹姆士：那不算。他的腳踝在比賽中受傷了。
喬安娜：噓！比賽要開始了。（比賽過後）哈！就跟你說吧！目前為止我每次都猜對。

Part B
Joanna continues to pick the winners for each event.
喬安娜繼續從每個項目挑選優勝者。

Joanna: I’ve also guessed the winner for boxing, judo, and shooting.
James: The boxing wasn’t fair. My guy’s glove fell off.
Joanna: And then my guy knocked him out. That was cool.
James: He lucked out.
Joanna: You’re just bitter because I know more about the Olympics than you do.
James: True, but I’m a better athlete. If I wanted to compete in London, I could. I
have a tough spirit.
Joanna: Oh yeah? You can’t even play dodgeball or swing a baseball bat. Let’s see if
you can beat me in basketball.
James: Bring it on!

喬安娜：我也猜中拳擊、柔道和射擊的優勝者。
詹姆士：那場拳擊賽不公平，我選的那個人手套掉了。
喬安娜：然後我選的人就把他打倒了，真酷。
詹姆士：他運氣好。
喬安娜：你只是因為我比你懂奧運，心裡不服氣罷了。
詹姆士：是沒錯，不過我是比妳厲害的運動員。只要我想，我就能在倫敦比賽。我很有決心。
喬安娜：喔，是嗎？你甚至連躲避球或揮棒都不會。我們來看看你籃球能不能打贏我吧。
詹姆士：放馬過來！
