Asking for Directions: Where Are We?

問路英語：我們迷路了

 Part A

Cathy and Mark are going to their friend Carol’s house.

凱西和馬克要去他們的朋友卡蘿的家。

 (P.O. = Police Officer)

Cathy:We should bring a snack. We can share it with everyone at Carol’s house.

Mark: That’s a good idea. What should we buy?

Cathy: I know that Carol loves chocolate ice cream. Is there a supermarket nearby?

(Mark sees a police officer walking by.)

Mark: Excuse me. Can you tell me where a supermarket is?

P.O.: Sure. Turn left at that post office and go straight for two blocks. Then, turn right on Elm Street.

Cathy:That sounds like a piece of cake. Thanks a lot.

Mark: All right, let’s get going.

 
凱西：我們應該帶點心去，可以在卡蘿家和大家一起分享。

馬克：那是個好主意，該買什麼呢？

凱西：我知道卡蘿喜歡巧克力冰淇淋，這附近有超市嗎？

（馬克看到一位警察經過。）

馬克：不好意思，可以告訴我超市在哪裡嗎？

警察：當然可以，在那間郵局左轉，直走兩個街區，然後在榆樹街右轉。

凱西：聽起來很簡單，非常感謝。

馬克：好，我們走吧。

Part B

They are walking out of the supermarket.
他們走出超市。

 
Mark:Let’s rush to Carol’s house. We don’t want the ice cream to melt.

(Cathy turns left, and Mark turns right.)

Cathy: Hey! Where are you going? Carol’s house is this way.

Mark:No, it’s this way.    

Cathy:(to a stranger) Excuse me. Do you know where Maple Street is?

Stranger: Walk toward Center Street. After you pass Center Street, take a left at the next corner. No, wait. Take a right. Walk for five minutes, and you’ll see Maple Street.

Mark:Thanks. Let’s go before the ice cream melts.

Cathy: This isn’t going to turn out well.

 
馬克：我們趕快去卡蘿家吧，我們可不希望冰淇淋溶化。

（凱西向左轉，馬克向右轉。）

凱西：嘿！你要去哪裡？卡蘿的家在這個方向。

馬克：不對，是這個方向。

凱西：（對一位陌生人說）不好意思，你知道楓樹街在哪裡嗎？

陌生人：朝中央街走，過了中央街後，在下一個轉角左轉。不，等一下，是右轉，再走五分鐘就會看到楓樹街了。

馬克：謝謝，冰淇淋溶化前我們趕快走吧。

凱西：我想事情不會那麼順利。
