Bike Manufacturer Giant Proves Taiwan Business Goes beyond Tech

You may be surprised to learn that Taiwan is a global center for high-end bicycles. Giant, like many other exporters, has suffered in the global economic slowdown. European sales fell this year, but [that] was easily offset by a 33-percent surge in Asia. Paula Hancocks has more on Giant’s journey and the terrain it’s had to tackle.

Cycling for sport or for fun is growing in the United States. Close to 20 million bicycles are sold every year. The members of this group are fans of one particular Taiwanese company. They all have Giant bikes.

I think Giant bicycles, because for the money, you can’t beat them. Spec for the money, compared to any other manufacturer in the industry, you can’t touch them. And their quality is just as good as any of your handmade bicycles out there.

在美國，愈來愈多人為了運動或休閒娛樂而騎乘自行車。每年銷售的自行車數量將近兩千萬輛。這群人都非常喜愛特定一家台灣公司。他們都擁有捷安特自行車。

我認為就價錢而言，捷安特的腳踏車找不到對手。以這樣的價錢能擁有的規格，和業界任何其他製造商相比是無人能及的。而且捷安特的品質並不遜於市面那些手工製作的腳踏車。
